Sephora’s Top Lip Balms Review

If you’re on the hunt for a new lip balm or can’t bear having dry lips, this review is for you. I tried and tested MANY lip products out there and I can tell you from experience that not all of them get the job done and by “job” I mean buttery smooth ultra hydrated lips that stay moisturized for hours onwards. Every product from the list below performs a bit differently so let’s get into the review.

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

Let’s start with my all time FAV lip balm everrrr! This is hands down the best lip balm I have ever tried. I keep going back to this one as it never fails me. I haven’t found anything that keeps my lips so hydrated all day long as this one does.

I apply it after I put my Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy at night and I always wake up with smooth, plump, and most importantly hydrated lips. It truly heals the lips overnight, it’s not sticky or waxy, it feels buttery and glides on like a dream.

However, there is one major drawback, THE PRICE! I honestly can’t justify $26 for a lip balm? I think the beauty industry has lost its mind. I hate that it’s not as affordable but I do stock up on this overly priced lip balm during the Sephora 20% VIP rouge sale. The other drawback is the packaging, there is a big portion of the product that sits in the bottom of the tube that you can’t roll up so I tend to use a quo tip to scoop out with but I find it VERY annoying to do so. If Fresh is reading this, please change your packaging on this product. Thank you!

Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy

The sugar lip serum is a lip primer that targets wrinkles and dryness. I find that it helps smooth out the lips dramatically. I like to use it before bedtime and before applying lip balm. It needs to be paired with a lip balm to obtain the maximum results because on its own it can only help to smooth out fine lines and nourish the lips. I do recommend this serum if you have extremely dry lips and want more elasticity in your lips. I always use the Fresh Sugar advanced lip balm along with it to give me the most luscious lips.

Longevity: 8/10

Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm

Ok, I have a love and hate relationship with this lip balm. I love the fact that it is made from all clean ingredients, Drunk Elephant is a great “clean” brand that’s formulated without fragrance, silicons or any irritants but I hate the packaging on this product. I really dislike the size of the tube, it’s ginormous and it gets all over the mouth area, it’s supposed to be applied on both lips at the same time but I still didn’t love the concept. Soon after applying it, my lips would feel hydrated for a few minutes but then they would feel dry and uncomfortable again. I wouldn’t repurchase!

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm

Bite beauty is such a great brand. This lip balm has a heavier and waxier texture than the above lip balms. For this reason, I found it hard to wear on top of lipsticks but it’s good on its own. It moisturizes very well. The formula is made from agave and Madagascan vanilla CO2 extract. The price is more affordable than the Fresh Sugar ones but still not cheap.

I prefer this packaging over the original Agave Lip Mask tube which requires you to use your finger to apply it on the lips and I am not a fan of using my finger every time I want to moisturize my lips especially if the consistency is thick and waxy like this one is, so I do appreciate the easy roll up packaging. However, because it was very sticky and thick I won’t be repurchasing but if you live in a cold climate, you might want to give it a try.

Longevity: 8/10

Texture: 7/10 (waxy and thick)
