Best Facial Masks Ever!!!

Facial masks are an extra step in your skincare routine that could improve your skin condition overtime, plus we all love at home masks for the special relaxing feeling it gives us. But when it comes to anything you put on your face, you have to be super selective with the ingredients that you choose to lather your face with. Our skin can only absorb few ingredients from the products we use. Usually, the main active ingredients on the first line of the ingredient list are the ones that get penetrated into the skin and the rest is just a filler.

When it comes to masks, I have learned to stay away from anything that is gritty and sandy in texture. Because these types of masks can aggravate the skin and cause inflammation and acne. Many physical exfoliants claim to resurface your skin but the truth is that these type of exfoliants do more damage than help.

I tend to opt for chemical exfoliants as they are much more effective and less abrasive in texture. I look for ingredients such as BHA, AHA, lactic acid, retinol, glycolic acid, fruit enzymes, etc. These type of ingredients help remove dead cells, brighten the skin,  shrink pores, and help decongest clogged pores. If you have any skin issues, stay away from physical exfoliants and go for chemical ones that contain natural goodness in them.

Here are some of my fav masks:

Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask

I love Blue tansy mask, in fact, I can’t live without it. It’s super effective yet gentle enough on the most sensitive skin. it contains natural BHA and AHA and other fruit enzymes to slough off any dead skin and dullness. It smells very soothing, and the ingredients are all clean, natural, and short which makes it perform very well. It’s great for all skin types especially if you have redness, acne, and large pores.

The clay masks are great for oily skin, all you got to do is mix them with some water or apple cider vinegar and leave on for 20-30 mins. The blue clay one is targeted towards acne prone skin to get rid of any impurities and the pink clay mask is made from rose hip and chamomile which are very soothing and detoxifying.

Brighten Pineapple Enzyme + Gemstone Instant Glow Mask

This mask is the gentler version of Blue Tansy. If you have super-duper sensitive skin, go for this one. It contains enzymes that help illuminate the complexion. I still prefer Blue tansy over this one but try both and see which one works best on your skin.

The Herbivore masks are all vegan, noncomedogenic, cruelty-free, and formulated without gluten and silicone.

Sand and Sky Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask :

This mask is one of the most popular masks in the beauty world in 2018. It won so many awards and attention for its clean yet powerful ingredients. It’s got everything that will help tighten the pores and detoxify the heck out of your skin. The Australian Kaolin, aloe vera, kelp extract, and witch hazel are all effective ingredients. The best part is that it doesn’t dry out the skin as other clay masks do. It’s truly amazing.

I wouldn’t recommend it as an exfoliator but definitely for brightening and decongesting the surface of your skin.

Be inspired,

MM
